How we collect, use and protect your personal information — in accordance with applicable Swedish and EU data-protection rules, including the GDPR.
This website has two different forms, and they do not mean the same thing.
The interest form is not a binding contract. By submitting it you ask us to contact you about our courses. Terms for lessons, payment and cancellation are agreed separately at enrolment.
The registration form is reached only through a personal link in our offer email. There you confirm the student's details and accept the semester fee set out in the offer you received. Your place is confirmed once your payment is confirmed. You can always reply to the email if anything needs changing.
Through the interest form we collect: the student's name, email address, phone number, date of birth, country, chosen instrument, the parent/guardian's name (for students under 18), and any message you write. We confirm your email address with a one-time code.
Through the registration form we additionally collect a second phone number (optional) and the student's personal number (optional). The personal number is used only for certificates and examinations and is never released for marketing. You can complete a registration without providing it.
The first contact number is added to the class WhatsApp group, where the teacher and the other families in that group can see it. If you would rather it were not, write to us and we will arrange communication another way.
For an interest form: to reply to you and suggest suitable courses and times. The legal basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry.
For a registration: to enrol the student, place them in the right group, invoice the semester fee and deliver the lessons. The legal basis is performance of the agreement between us.
Emails about courses, offers and discounts are sent only if you have explicitly opted in, and you can withdraw that at any time.
Interest submissions are kept for up to twelve months after our last contact with you. A completed registration becomes part of the student record and is covered by our student terms, because we need that information for as long as the student studies with us. You may request earlier deletion at any time.
Your information is stored in our database at Amazon Web Services in the Stockholm (EU) region. Only the academy's administrative staff have access. Your information is never sold and never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and to withdraw any consent you have given (for example for mailings) at any time. Contact us at info@foxtromusicacademy.com and we will help you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
